AI-Powered Smart Refrigerator Design
Our final group project for the UCSD Interaction Design course was to design and prototype a digital system that addresses the problems we were interested in, while demonstrating our ability to critically analyze and justify design choices using HCI frameworks. We were to: identify an HCI design/research problem, position the question to existing related work, propose solutions to address the problem, and conduct analysis (e.g., factors, heuristics) on our prototype. We had to be sure to incorporate at least one of the following frameworks: heuristic evaluation, design factors, or gulfs/cognitive directness.
This course introduced fundamental methods and principles for designing, implementing, and evaluating user interfaces.
